New Caregiver Program
Canada had introduced a new pathway for caregivers called the Home Child Care Provider Pilot and Home Support Worker Pilot. These pilots replaced the previous Caring for Children and Caring for People with High Medical Needs pilots.
Purpose: The Home Child Care Provider Pilot and Home Support Worker Pilot aim to address the needs of Canadian families by providing a pathway for caregivers to come to Canada and eventually apply for permanent residence.
Eligibility Criteria:
1. Have a job offer to work in Canada as either a Home Child Care Provider or a Home Support Worker.
2. Meet language proficiency requirements in English or French.
3. Have obtained at least one year of Canadian post-secondary education or its foreign equivalent.
4. Have obtained a Canadian Educational Credential Assessment (ECA) report for their foreign education credential, if applicable.
5. Meet admissibility requirements, including medical, criminal, and security checks.
